Early visual development for Palia considering different shape languages and approaches to style. Inspired by the great Eyvind Earle! And I may have thrown in a chocobo inspired creature in there 😣 oops (calm down, there are no Chocobos in the game). However, the cart here was actually built for the final game! And helped set the style for our smaller structures.
We had several early ideas of a character who is a traveling merchant. Still might design them in the future.
I REALLY enjoy painting with this method. Could paint scenes like this all day everyday (well… maybe not everyday).
